Vamos Lá Começar! is intended for students of Portuguese as a Foreign Language at Initiation, Elementary and Pre-Intermediate levels (A1-B1). This book is also very useful for students of Portuguese as a Heritage Language and Portuguese as a Non-Native Language, and can be used in other contexts. This book is made up of grammar exercises and before each series of exercises corresponding to a grammatical structure, there is a presentation of that same structure.
In this new edition, a careful review of the contents was carried out and new exercises, closer to effective and real communication, were included. This edition also follows the new graphic layout used in Vamos Lá Continuar! (3rd edition), thus maintaining the effectiveness and adaptability of the material developed for teaching Portuguese.
Vamos Lá Começar! was designed primarily as a support for classes, but it can also be used in self-learning situations. At the end of the book, there are solutions to all the exercises.

Young and adult learners of Portuguese as a Foreign Language at an introductory, elementary or pre-intermediate levels (A1-B1), or with some knowledge of the language that they need to consolidate and systematize, as well as students of Portuguese as a Heritage Language and/or Portuguese as a Non-Native Language.

Licenciado em Estudos Anglo-Americanos pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto. Foi leitor de Português em Paris (1988-1996), onde fez o Mestrado (DEA), na Universidade Paris 8. Foi docente da Universidade Aberta (1997-2007), onde concebeu e produziu materiais multimédia para a aprendizagem do PLE e foi professor do curso de PLE online. É autor dos livros Vamos Lá Começar! (Gramática), Vamos Lá Começar! (Vocabulário) e o autor principal dos CD-ROM Português (inter)Acção! (Lidel, 2003, Nível B2). Atualmente é professor de Português Língua Materna e Português Língua Não Materna na EB 2/3 João Afonso de Aveiro.
