This work starts from the observation that there is, both in scientific production in Portuguese and in scientific production in general, a shortage of training resources specifically intended for heritage language teachers.
In this context, Português Língua de Herança e Formação de Professores presents elements of response to some of the formative needs of teachers of Portuguese as a Heritage Language, starting from studies in different contexts of professional action and presenting formative experiences and their conclusions.
Due to the heterogeneity of the studied contexts and the situations presented, this work is addressed to researchers, trainers, and teachers in the areas of Portuguese as a Non-Native Language, in general, and Portuguese as a Heritage Language, in particular.
In this way it is a contribution to new paths, having as reference the contexts, the needs and the objectives of pupils, teachers, and educators in a continuous formation designing and, who knows, of theoretical and methodological renewal.

Maria de Lurdes Gonçalves
É licenciada em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas, variante Estudos Ingleses e Alemães, pela Universidade de Lisboa, mestre em Gestão Curricular e doutorada em Didática de Línguas pela Universidade de Aveiro. Pertence ao quadro de nomeação definitiva do Agrupamento de Escolas de Mira e foi orientadora de estágio entre 1997 e 2004. Desde 2013 é coordenadora do Ensino de Português na Suíça, pelo Camões, I.P.

Sílvia Melo-Pfeifer
É licenciada em Ensino de Português e Francês e doutorada em Didática de Línguas pela Universidade de Aveiro. Atualmente é Professora Associada de Didática de Línguas Românicas na Faculdade de Educação da Universidade de Hamburgo (Alemanha). Coordenou o Ensino de Português na Alemanha entre 2010 e 2013, pelo Camões, I.P.
