PRIVACY POLICY

The LIDEL Group is a Portuguese project dedicated to publishing technical and scientific books by Portuguese-speaking authors. Currently, the LIDEL Group is one of the leading national publishers of technical books and teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language, in terms of the diversity of its offer, the quality of its products, its thematic content and its innovation, with a catalog of around 1,000 titles in Portuguese.

 
The LIDEL Group includes the imprints LIDEL, LIDEL Saúde e bem-estar, FCA, FCA Design, PACTOR, PACTOR Kids and ETEP, which are specialized in publishing books by Portuguese authors in a wide range of areas.
 
LIDEL Group, headquartered at Rua D. Estefânia, 183 r/c Dto, 1049-057 Lisboa - Portugal, guarantees its website visitors, www.lidel.pt, www.fca.pt and www.pactor.pt, respect for their privacy and the protection of their personal data.
 
Visiting its websites does not in itself imply the automatic collection of any personal data identifying the User. However, the use of contact forms may imply that users provide personal data. This "Privacy Policy", together with the "Cookies Policy", regulates the collecting and processing of personal data provided by Users, as well as the exercise of their rights in relation to this data, under the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council in force.

1. What data is processed? And for what purpose?
The LIDEL Group is responsible for collecting and processing the personal data of Users of its websites: www.lidel.pt, www.fca.pt, www.pactor.pt. By registering on the LIDEL Group websites, you consent to the collection and processing of your data by the LIDEL Group. The data collected is used exclusively for processing orders and communicating with our customers, statistical analysis and, in the case of newsletter subscriptions, for marketing purposes.
 
The personal data collected (identification data and contact request information) will be processed and stored in computerized form by the LIDEL Group to manage your contact requests and clarifications, in particular to respond to them. The data collected is essential for making contact, so all the data required must be provided, otherwise it will not be possible to respond to your contact request.
 
In any case of collection, the LIDEL Group assumes that the data collected has been entered by the data subject or that it has been authorized by the data subject, and that it is true, accurate and current.
 
2. To whom do we communicate personal data?
The LIDEL Group respects your data and does not pass it on to third parties and undertakes to keep it confidential.
 
The LIDEL Group may, however, communicate your personal data in compliance with a legal obligation, a decision by the National Data Protection Commission or a court order.
 
3. What are the user's rights?
The user has the right, at all times, to obtain confirmation from the LIDEL Group that his personal data is being processed, as well as access to it, and will be provided with a copy of the data in question if requested.
 
Users also have the right to rectify and erase their personal data at any time, as well as the right to limit or object to the processing of their data.
 
If the user requests the erasure of his data, the LIDEL Group will adopt all the necessary mechanisms to ensure that all data has been deleted.
 
The user may also request any additional information, in particular information on the purposes for which the data is processed and how long it is expected to be kept.
 
The user has the right to transmit his personal data which has provided to the LIDEL Group in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format to another data controller. In these terms, the user may request, whenever technically possible and when legally applicable, the transmission of his personal data directly between the data controllers.
 
Users may exercise these rights via the "My Account" page or by writing to the LIDEL Group at the following email address: grupolidel.privacidade@lidel.pt.
 
If requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, in particular due to their frequent nature, the LIDEL Group reserves the right to demand payment of a fee taking into account the administrative costs relating to the user's request or to refuse to comply with the request.

4. How long will personal data be kept?
The personal data collected will be kept for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, after which it will be permanently deleted, or for as long as the data subject does not exercise their right to have it deleted.
 
Unregistered users will be free to browse the websites and will not be asked to provide any personal data. They may, however, if they wish, fill in the "Contact Form", in which case they will be asked for some personal data.
 
However, Users should be aware that some information about them may be collected, albeit anonymously, through automatic processes (such as cookies) as described below.
 
5. What security measures have been adopted?
The LIDEL Group makes every effort to protect users' personal data from unauthorized access via the Internet. To this end, it uses security systems, policies, rules and other procedures to ensure the protection of users' personal data, as well as to prevent unauthorized access to the data, its improper use, disclosure, loss or destruction.
 
It is, however, the user's responsibility to guarantee and ensure that the device in use is adequately protected against harmful software, computer viruses and worms. In addition, the users should be aware that without the adoption of appropriate security measures (e.g. secure browser configuration, up-to-date antivirus software, security barrier software and not using software of dubious origin), the risk of personal data and passwords being accessed by unauthorized third parties is increased.
 
However, it should be noted that whenever data is collected over open networks, such as the Internet, your data may circulate unsecured, with the risk of it being seen and used by unauthorized third parties.
 
6. Cookies
The LIDEL Group uses cookies on its websites. Cookies are files that are stored on your computer and improve the user experience on our websites. Placing cookies helps websites recognize your device the next time you visit, save your access data, or keep items in your shopping cart. These files do not pose any security risk, as they cannot contain viruses or be executed.
