On March 14, 2024, at the headquarters of Camões, I.P., in Lisbon, the renewal of the Protocol to support the promotion of the Portuguese language for the 24-25 biennium was signed between Camões - Institute for Cooperation and Language, I.P. and the publisher LIDEL - Edições Técnicas, Lda, one of the pioneering entities to acquire the status of Enterprise for the Promotion of the Portuguese Language.

The document was signed by the President of the Board of Directors of Camões, I.P., Ana Paula Fernandes, and the Executive Director of the LIDEL Group, Rita Annes.

This instrument builds on the collaboration that the LIDEL publishing house has consigned since the beginning of the Empresa Promotora da Língua Portuguesa (Enterprise for the Promotion of the Portuguese Language) project in 2017. As part of this collaboration, hundreds of titles have already been acquired to equip libraries in several countries and specialized training courses have been held for teachers who teach the Portuguese language around the world, initiatives that are in line with the strategy of promoting the Portuguese language in which the two parties are committed and collaborating.

LIDEL's cooperation for the 24-25 biennium will strengthen the capacity to educate teachers and allow the development of Chair libraries, Language Centers and Readerships to be extended to more geographies within the Camões, I.P. Network.
