This book explores a strongly present theme on today`s social context: teaching and promoting the Portuguese Language in our ever-changing world. Its eight chapters, written in European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese, present a diversified theoretical approach and the multiplicity of authors, themes and texts justifies its subtitle ("language and culture in times of perplexity"). Even though uncertainty is a typical feature of our times, the teaching of Portuguese Language to those who speak other languages is also characterized by innovation and thematic richness.
Nowadays, professional and social contexts are always changing, in order to get people`s attention and promote their integration, despite diversity. Similarly, there are new paths for those who teach and learn a new language and "communication", "interaction" and "creativity" are key elements for success. This is the frame of this book. It comprises several studies that may inspire other investigations, in the same contexts (Brazil, Macau, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe) or others.
Therefore, this book is addressed to teachers and researchers of Portuguese as a Foreign Language/Portuguese for those who speak other languages and to everyone who is interested in Portuguese Language and Culture.
